Refund, Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

This Refund, Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy (“Policy”) forms an integral part and inseparable part of the Terms and Conditions of TechCognia (OPC) Private Limited (“TechCognia”, “Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing our website or completing a purchase through our online checkout, you agree to be legally bound by this Policy.
In the event of any conflict between this Policy and the Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions shall prevail, unless expressly stated otherwise.
By completing a purchase or enrolling in any course, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to both this Policy and the Terms and Conditions.
1. Booking Confirmation & Contract Formation
- A binding contract is formed only upon successful completion of payment through our website.
- Course seats are limited and are allocated on a first-confirmed-payment basis.
- No seat is reserved or guaranteed without payment.
2. 7-Day Easy Cancellation
To align with fair-trade and consumer-protection principles under Indian law, TechCognia offers a limited easy cancellation window, subject to strict conditions.
2.1 Eligibility Conditions
A participant may cancel a booking and request a refund only if both conditions below are satisfied:
- The cancellation request is submitted within 7 calendar days from the date of payment, and
- The scheduled training start date is more than 7 calendar days away at the time of cancellation.
Failure to meet either condition renders the booking non-refundable.
2.2 Refund Processing
- Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method only.
- Any payment gateway charges, bank fees, or foreign exchange conversion fees are non-refundable.
- Refund processing timelines depend on the payment gateway and issuing bank and are outside TechCognia’s direct control.
3. Non-Refundable Scenarios
Refunds shall not be issued in the following circumstances:
- Cancellation requests submitted after the 7-day window
- Cancellations where the training start date falls within 7 days
- Non-attendance or no-show
- Partial attendance
- Change of personal circumstances
- Technical issues on the participant’s end
- Failure to review course details prior to purchase
Once the easy cancellation window expires, all sales are final.
4. Rescheduling Policy (Individual Participants)
4.1 Participant-Initiated Rescheduling
- One (1) reschedule request is permitted per booking.
- Requests must be submitted at least 7 days prior to the scheduled start date.
- Rescheduling is subject to availability in a future session of the same course.
4.2 Limitations
- Rescheduling is permitted only once.
- No monetary refunds or credits will be issued in lieu of rescheduling.
- Failure to attend without an approved reschedule request will result in forfeiture of the booking.
5. Corporate & Enterprise Bookings
Corporate, group, or enterprise training engagements are governed exclusively by the written service agreement executed between TechCognia and the client organization.
This Policy does not apply to such bookings unless expressly incorporated into the service agreement.
6. Changes Initiated by TechCognia
In the event TechCognia cancels or materially reschedules a session:
Participants may be offered, at TechCognia’s discretion:
- Transfer to an alternate session, or
- A refund, excluding non-refundable transaction charges
7. Checkout & Payment Terms
- All payments are processed via secure, PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways.
- Checkout confirmation constitutes explicit acceptance of this Policy and the Terms and Conditions.
- TechCognia is not liable for delays or deductions caused by banks, card issuers, or payment gateways.
8. Requests & Communication
All cancellation, refund, or rescheduling requests must be submitted in writing using the official contact details published on our website.
9. Policy Updates
TechCognia reserves the right to modify this Policy at any time. The version in force at the time of payment shall govern the transaction.
10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This Policy shall be governed by the laws of India, in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and other applicable statutes. Courts located in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted under applicable law:
- Maximum Liability Cap
TechCognia’s total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with any course, booking, cancellation, rescheduling, refund, or use of services shall be strictly limited to the amount actually paid by the participant for the specific course giving rise to the claim. - No Additional Damages
Under no circumstances shall TechCognia be liable for:- Indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages
- Loss of income, loss of opportunity, loss of business, or reputational loss
- Travel, accommodation, visa, or personal expenses
- Technical failures outside TechCognia’s control
- Exclusive Remedy
The participant’s sole and exclusive remedy, if any liability is established, shall be limited to a refund of fees paid, subject to this Policy. - Consumer Law Compliance
Nothing in this clause limits statutory rights available under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, where such rights cannot be lawfully excluded. However, where permitted, liability remains capped as stated above.
